Cimarron was the only 1A school there, and the rest were 3A and bigger. Cimarron has won the Sportsmanship Award for the second year in a row at this meet. Only one of our runners earned a medal. Matt Dean placed in 28th place in the Varsity Race. Although, the Lady Rams didn't have a team, the three ladies we did have did quite well against the big schools. It was a battle for the best, but the Lady Rams eventually edged them out. The Lady Rams Head Coach, Alberta Martinez said, "It was really exciting. We had people come from all over. We had one come from Albuquerque. It was cool to know that we had people come just to play against our girls. I hope we can do this every year and for every sport." Article By: Christine Subratie
