The Lady Rams Volleyball team shut out Mesa Vista by winning all three matches. According to Coach Alberta Martinez, "It was really great because our JV girls got to play most of the time. Usually our JV girls don't get to play a lot, so it was good for them." The Lady Rams are looking forward to Districts after having wins at the Anna Archuleta Tournament and other games. There next upcoming game is Monte Del Sol. "The Lady Rams have already beat them before, so were looking forward to another win if the women play hard." ,said Alberta Martinez.

Future Farmers of America and the Cimarron Band both went to the state fair. FFA went to help run the Barn at the State Fair, while the Cimarron High School Wind Ensemble went to play at the State Fair. When they were done, they all got to have fun at the fair and eat fried foods, play fun games, and get a little sick on fair rides. Article By: Christine Subratie
The Lady Rams held the Anna Archuleta Tournament in Cimarron. They had eight teams participate. Our own Lady Rams got third place in the Tournament. Des Moines got Runner-up and Logan won the Tournament. "I believe our ladies did quite well. There were some schools there that we usually don't play against, and I am really proud of our ladies.", said Coach Alberta Martinez. Article By: Christine Subratie
The cross country team went to the Academy of Technology and the Classics. This was the first meet they had the middle school join them. According to Ashley Gonzales, "The men all improved their times and some of the women did too. The boys from middle school did really well and stuck together really well. The girls from middle school actually had a team this year which was really exciting." Article by: Christine Subratie
This past weekend, the Lady Rams placed third at the To'hajilee tournament. They also played Pine Hill,and Tse' Yi' Gai. One of the women injured her foot and had to go to the ambulance. According to Alberta Martinez, " The women did quite well and played really hard. We only had 5 women and the girls played really hard and made up that one person and played really well." On August 31st and September 1st, we had New Mexico Senators hold their meeting at Cimarron High School. Many of the students from elementary to high school went to go watch the meeting, and it was a very good educational moment. Article by: Christine Subratie
Photos by: Pamela Towry On Friday, September 1st, the Brass Project from the Curtis Institute of Music came and helped out the students at Cimarron Middle and High school, and Eagle Nest Middle School. They had a new member and even brought along there Composer-in-Residence. They played some songs for the students, did some activities, and even played a long with them. According to Christine Subratie, "I really enjoy having them come every year. They really help us out with our music and it is a lot of fun." |
